Canada than it is in the secluded garden of Buckingham Palace.How long before he realises he has made a terrible mistake?.He has a year to change his mind.Prince Harry prankster breaks silence on hoax call: 'Duke wanted to get lot off chest'.Russian comedians Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov convinced the Duke of Sussex to discuss a series of hot to handle topics, including Prince Andrew, Donald Trump and Boris Johnson.Prince Harry seemed to “want to get a lot off his chest” during an embarrassing prank call, according to one of the hoaxers.Harry was duped into appearing to criticise the Queen, Boris Johnson and other world leaders while distancing himself from his family during two prank calls.Russian comedians Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov – who perform as Vovan and Lexus – tricked Harry into believing he was speaking to 17-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg and her father Svante in two phone conversations recorded on New Year’s Eve and January 22.During the conversations Harry, 35, suggested Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn offered the people a poor choice at the last election and were a sign that British politics was broken.He described world leaders as “sick people” and said that US President Donald Trump had “blood on his hands” for ramping up environmentally damaging coal production.If the controversial property baron could become president anything was possible, the Duke was also recorded as saying.In an interview, Mr Stolyarov said he and Mr Kuznetsov had “dreamed” of speaking to Harry for a long time and decided to make a second call after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were quitting royal duties.He said Harry spoke for about an hour and was every open. “He wanted to speak out,” Mr Stolyarov said.“It seems like he wanted to get a lot off his chest.”.Buckingham Palace refused to discuss the prank today or say whether Harry had apologised for his indiscretions.But the hoax calls, which Harry is understood to have received at his and Meghan’s temporary home on Vancouver Island in Canada, raised questions about security surrounding the couple and the pitfalls of operating outside the palace.Dickie Arbiter, a former palace press secretary, said: “If they were at Buckingham Palace, it wouldn’t have happened. They wouldn’t have got through the switchboard.They’re pretty vigilant.”.He added: “If you’re outside the system, you’re open to anything and everything. We operate in a way of inclusivity and we are focusing on community.And so we are completely separate from the majority of my family.”.Speaking about his decision to step down as a senior royal, he said: “Sometimes the right decision isn’t always the easy one.“And this decision certainly wasn’t the easy one but it was the right decision for our family, the right decision to be able to protect my son.“And I think there’s a hell of a lot of people around the world that can identify and respect us for putting our family first.”.An extract from one of the recorded calls was published on YouTube along with an animated cartoon of Harry.In the audio, he can be heard saying: “Unfortunately, the world is being led by some very sick people.So people like yourselves and younger generations are the ones that are going to the make all the difference.He told them: “The fossil fuel industry and certain presidents around the world are driving completely the wrong agenda.“I think the mere fact that Donald Trump is pushing the coal industry so big in America, he has blood on his hands.“Because the effect that that has on the climate and the island nations far, far away - again out of sight, out of mind.”.Harry said in the recording that he was “confident” that in the next five to 10 years “things will change” on climate policies.He added: “But we can’t wait five to 10 years, so I think if Donald Trump can become president of the United States of America, then anything’s possible, right?”.Harry suggested British politics was broken after voters were left choosing between Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn in December’s election.“I think again the fact that our choice was between those two individuals in my mind, I think, probably creates more of an observation that the system itself might be broken.”.But he also praised Mr Johnson, saying: “I think he is a good man. So you are one of few people who can reach into his soul and get him to feel and believe in you.But you have to understand that because he has been around for so long, like all of these other people, they are already set in their ways.“They believe what they want to believe.They believe what they have been told.”.
At times the conversation descended into farce. The pranksters convinced Harry that Greta wanted to marry a younger member of the Royal Family and asked for his help to ship penguins to the North Pole.The pair have previously duped figures including singer Elton John, US politician Bernie Sanders, and actor Joaquin Phoenix.Other members of the Royal Family have fallen victim to hoaxes.In 1995 the Queen was pranked while in Canada by DJ Pierre Brassard pretending to be Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien and promised to try to influence Quebec’s referendum on proposals to break away from Canada.Princess Diana was hoaxed by broadcaster Victor Lewis-Smith posing as astrophysicist Professor Stephen Hawking in 1996.In 2012 events took a tragic turn when a nurse who was treating the Duchess of Cambridge while she was pregnant took her own life after being duped by hoaxers.Jacintha Saldanha had been tricked by two Australian radio DJs who impersonated the Queen and the Prince of Wales into giving a condition update on Kate, who was suffering severe morning sickness in hospital.
